WW2: Forced Relocation and Internment of Japanese Americans. Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour, a wave of anti-Japanese suspicion and fear saw the U.S. government forcibly relocate and incarcerate about 120,000 people of Japanese descent into camps. About two thirds of these people were American citizens, born and raised in the United States.
