Featured Source for August 2025: Paul Almasy

akg-images is proud to represent Paul Almasy.

Born in Budapest in 1906, Almasy embarked on his path to photojournalism after studying political science in Vienna and Heidelberg. He began his career in the early 1930s and quickly rose to prominence as a leading photojournalist. Over the next three decades, he travelled extensively—spending up to ten months each year on the road—photographing people from a wide range of cultures and countries. His lifelong dedication resulted in an extraordinary archive of 120,000 black-and-white negatives, capturing the breadth of 20th-century life and history.

akg-images holds over 23,000 digital images from Paul Almasy, and thousands more 6x6cm negatives, available for editorial and creative use.
